I have an old habit whenever I acquire a new sketchbook to just scribble on the first page whatever comes to mind or parts of recent projects to just get something on the page for the sake of it. This was a tradition I continued when I first joined Twitter:

I’ve never been one to treat a sketchbook like a pristine treasure and even though unlike my sketchbooks this blog is public I don’t plan to take things too seriously here either.

One of my biggest motivations is to get off Twitter, I never had a blog before Twitter. For a time Twitter felt like a nice alternative, instead of having a blog you could have a mircroblog. This blog will be my experiment to build something else. A bit more long form. I don’t know how that will work out, but I remember in the early 2000’s before Twitter really took over, blogs were everywhere in the tech industry.

Big thanks to Josh Collinsworth for the tutorial on setting up a markdown powered blog in SvelteKit. This is also my first project with SvelteKit which I’ve really enjoyed for the most part and will write up more later. Currently everything here is still pretty much an initial sketch of what I have in mind, so check back sometime if you’ve made it this far in your reading.
